Welcome to the Wednesday Cats of Catster<\/a>! Every month, we ask our cat-loving Catsters to weigh in on a new topic. This week, we asked them: What’s Your Favorite Thing About Your Cat? What Are Your Cat’s Favorite Things? Here’s what they had to say:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Crystal & Ivy<\/h2>\n

Just like we humans have our favorite things, our kitties do, too! Here are a few of Ivy\u2019s all-time favorites.<\/p>\n

As we all know, cats LOVE sleeping. And as they age, they spend even more time sleeping.<\/p>\n

With this being said, Ivy is big on her sleep! She absolutely loves<\/i> sleeping late in the mornings. Most days, I\u2019m up and at \u2018em by 08:00 am. Ivy only rolls out of bed around 11:00 am! During this time, she is not to be disturbed. As in, at all.<\/p>\n

She also has two favorite spots on the bed – either on<\/b> my face or between my legs. She\u2019s definitely made me change how I sleep, but even if I\u2019m uncomfortable, I love that she still sleeps with me. I thought this would be something she\u2019d grow out of, but thankfully not! She also enjoys cuddling but, in typical cat fashion, only on her terms.<\/p>\n

Another of Ivy\u2019s absolute favorites is a treat called \u2018Biskitty.<\/i>\u2019 My fiance started a morning ritual that involves Ivy jumping on her cat tree and then receiving a couple of bum pats – and, of course, a couple of Biskitty treats!<\/p>\n

Even on days when my fiance is away for work, she expects her bum pats and treats. She would get up from bed (eventually), run over to the cat tree, and meow – all whilst giving me the \u2018death stare.\u2019 Also, if I forget to put the treat container away, there\u2019s a 100% chance that she will attempt to open it by knocking it over (she has succeeded a few times, resulting in the treat container now being kept out of cat-reach). Pretty sure she\u2019d put one of her nine lives on the line for just a crumb of Biskitty!<\/p>\n

She\u2019s never really had much interest in traditional cat toys available at pet shops. After spending a rather questionable amount of money on tons of different toys, we discovered the fan favorite: ping pong balls!<\/p>\n

Simply bouncing the ball on the floor is enough to get her full attention! We live in a double-story townhouse, with the second story being a loft. When we play together, we throw the ping pong ball up to the loft from the ground floor, resulting in a mad dash to the top from Ivy, to chase down the ping pong ball. On some nights when she\u2019s feeling particularly wild, she would chase the ball around in the loft for what feels (and sounds) like hours! Very noisy, but very cute!<\/p>\n

She\u2019s a simple girl, really! Snoozing, treats, and ping pong balls are a very small price to pay for the unconditional love and laughs she gives us!<\/p>\n

Isabel & Milly<\/h2>\n

Milly and I actually have a lot in common for two gals from different species. For example, Milly loves eating whenever she\u2019s presented with a snack. I, too, have seldom turned down a food offering. Milly loves lying stretched out in the sun<\/a>. She even knows which rooms get the best sun at specific times during the day.<\/p>\n

Similarly, I enjoy spending time in the sun, tanning, doing yoga, or gardening. We\u2019re both sassy, independent, not big fans of crowds, love to Netflix and chill and we\u2019re both obsessed with each other.<\/p>\n

Let me tell you more about Milly\u2019s other favorite things.<\/p>\n

Firstly, her favored nap spots. Her cat tree has this half-pipe, cylindrical spot which she has claimed as her favorite spot of all time. It\u2019s positioned right by the front window with the most beautiful views of mountains, a golf course, large gardens with a walking path below which sees many a furry and human passerby, and a diverse collection of birds frolicking about.<\/p>\n

A new, but strong contender for her favorite napping spot is her Hepper Nest bed<\/a> conveniently positioned on my desk where I spend most of my day. She loves being by my side while I work, I even have a small duster on stand-by to sweep my desk 5-10 times a day because she prances around my setup around 5 out of the 8 hours a day I\u2019m there.<\/p>\n

She was really impressed when I placed the Nest on my desk. She gets to be close to me and petted while I work, and I get to actually see my screen without clouds of cat hair floating around. It\u2019s a win-win.<\/p>\n

My favorite thing about Milly is knowing she wants to be close to me even though she\u2019s not the most affectionate or cuddly cat<\/a>. She chooses me every day, and that\u2019s an incredible honor.<\/p>\n

Wes & Raphy<\/h2>\n

My favorite thing about Raphy is his presence. Now, I don\u2019t mean that in the way you might think. Raphy just LOVES being around us when we\u2019re home, and I find it the most wonderful companionship. If I\u2019m sitting on the floor, he\u2019ll come and sit on the floor next to me. If I\u2019m on the couch, he\u2019ll curl up on the next seat. And if I\u2019m in the bathroom<\/a>\u2026well\u2026the less said, the better! Will he act disinterested? Sometimes. But I know deep down, just by him being there, that he loves me. Sometimes, when Raphael wakes from a lazy nap in the middle of the day and gets the urge to hang out with us, he won\u2019t be able to find us.<\/p>\n

\"Raphy<\/p>\n

Before you can slow-blink, suddenly he\u2019ll be wailing:<\/p>\n

\u201cmeow! \u201cmeow!\u201d<\/p>\n

Loosely translated, I think that means:<\/p>\n

\u201cHey! Where is everyone?!\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll shout back:<\/p>\n

\u201cRaphy, we\u2019re in here!\u201d<\/p>\n

With a little \u201cmerp\u201d of surprise, he\u2019ll come speed-trotting in the direction of the directed directions.<\/p>\n

\"Raphy<\/p>\n

As he joins me in whatever mundane task I\u2019m whiling away the hours on at that moment in time, his presence always makes me reflect on the fact that we\u2019re so lucky to have these silent (and sometimes not so silent)<\/a>, companions in our lives.
